Fashion Institute of Florida was founded upon the belief that quality fashion design education should be available to all students with the desire to learn the art and craft of fashion design. We also believe that quality instruction should be made available at an affordable price to aspiring design students.   • Who can/should take these online courses?

    The courses can be taken by anyone that is an aspiring fashion designer, sewer, hobbyist, or anyone looking to gain new skills within the fashion industry.

  • Do I need experience or previous knowledge in the industry to enroll in the online courses?

    No, you do not need to have previous experience or any knowledge, just the desire to learn. The courses are organized for you so you can start from zero. For example, if you want to learn Pattern Making, the first course is “Introduction to Pattern Making” and you can take it for free!

  • What tools and materials will I need?

    Each course includes a list of tools and materials with links to different options where you can buy them. In addition, you will need a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone and internet access to watch the pre-recorded tutorials.

  • How long do I have access to the courses?

    After enrolling in each course, you have 12 months to complete it. All- Access membership gives you access to all courses as long as you pay the monthly fee. With any of those options, you can watch, pause, fast forward, and rewind the videos as many times as you need to.

  • Will I receive a certificate of completion?

    Yes! To receive a certificate of completion, you will need to submit pictures of all projects or exercises taught in each lesson that you completed via email within 12 months after enrolling in the course. A qualified instructor will review it and if the work is satisfactorily completed you will get a Certificate of Completion from the Fashion Institute of Florida signed by the director. It will be emailed or mailed to you upon request to a USA address. Please note that a $ 100 dollar fee applies to review all the summited exercises, give feedback, and issue a Certificate of Completion.

  • Is Fashion Institute of Florida a real school?

    Yes. We are located in Miami, Florida and we offer the same courses in our brick-and-mortar location. We offer Short Fashion Courses, Intensive Summer Courses, and a complete career to graduate as a Fashion Apparel Designer, validated by the Commission of Independent Education of the Florida Department of Education.

  • Does Fashion institute of Florida offer a degree?

    No, while we are licensed by the Commission of Independent Education of the Florida Department of Education, we do not offer a college degree. Since a license is not needed to become a fashion designer, we have found that many of our students are not interested in a degree but just want to get the hands-on knowledge we give them here.

  • Can the Online Courses be used as credit for the 22-course diploma?

    No, if you want to apply for a Diploma in Fashion Apparel Designer, you will need to pay and retake the courses in our brick-and-mortar school. For more questions, please email us here: [email protected]
